About us

We are Álvaro, Covadonga, and Julieta—a family from Madrid, Spain—and we decided to channel our personal style, inspired by current colors and trends, into a collection of backpacks, handbags, and travel bags.

During our honeymoon, we discovered Hawaii and its culture; we fell so deeply in love with it that we wanted to pay tribute to it by choosing the name *Wākea*. Meaning "sky," *Wākea* is—according to Hawaiian mythology—one of the creators of the Hawaiian Islands and the Hawaiian people.
